Dear Carol. Thanks! You could never send me too much info on Johnson's. I
can go back to my great grand mother on my mother's side. She was called
Mary Jane Johnson married Benjamin Hodge in 1885 in or around Izard Co,
Arkansas & they lived around there. She was a Cherokee. I hope I have the
right family. Her & her mother both had several different names on various
census.
This is one census 1880 Izard Co , ar
James Johnson 66 b. NC Father b. Va Mother b. VA
Hannah 56 b. Tn " b. Tn " B. Tn
Jane 30 b. Ar
Mollie 21 b. Ar
William J. 16 b. Ar
James 15 b. Ar.
My mother passed away 2 yrs ago in June. I found a picture of Walter
Johnson??? No one around that can help. I'm starting to do the Dawes Rolls &
Guion Miller Rolls. & hope something will turn up. Do you know who Willianm
F. "s brothers & sisters were?It is such a puzzle, especially Indians, they
hid, changed their names & were ashamed to be an Indian just to survive. No
one ever cared who their grandparents were. Ha I think some of my Johnson's
were in Oklahoma too. Yes, there must be 40 billion johnson's. Send me
anything & I will be greatful.I have run across Samuel several times. Let me
hear from you real soon.
Have a great day! Ilene Stevenson

marrried to James T. Davis. Martha's father was Samuel Johnson.

father was, William F. Johnson. Born about 1810 in VA. He lived in TN, KY,
IN, and MO during his life time. He married, in TN to Mary [Rice]. I haven't
proven Mary's surname to my satisfaction yet. They had a son, Henry Lee, who
married Winnie Mason. They had Marion Jackson who married Mary Harriet
Mason. They had Rutha Matilda, who married Lark Alexander Anderson. They
were first cousins. They had my grandpa, Jesse Jackson Anderson, who married
Tressie Armilda Carver. They had my mom, Dorothy Ann who married, J.C.
McCarn. They had me, Carol Ann McCarn. This is probably much more info than
you wanted. I am hoping that we may have at least one common ancestor. The
Johnson's and Anderson's are hard families to track down, there are so many
of them.
