Mr. Egell, Guvner:

I am in gale here for forgin a order and want to git you to pardin me and I will do the same fur you if it ever comes in the way or I will give you a good self-cockin pistell that I can git when I git out of here. You just rite to the galer to turn me out by return male and will send the gun to you, don’t let Miles no anything about it, fur I don’t think he likes me the guge winked his I at me when I was in the cort, but I don’t know whether he is on my side or not I am well hopin these few lines will find you in the same ficks. When this you see remember me.
