I was in Little River County AR on Monday this week. I looked at the
records there trying to find where my ggrandfather had owned property. The
two years I really wanted to see couldn't be found (1890 & 1891) I was told
back then they did not necessarily collect taxes each year. Then I looked
at the index to the sellers of property and buyers of property. I did not
find what I wanted to find but really liked the ease in using the book. In
a few minutes time I was able to look in the G index for the years 1885 -
1894. They were not in strict alphabetical order but at least all the names
starting with G were in one section and so on. You would need to see if
there is a Genealogical Society in the county you need records from and if
they have volunteers who do this kind of searches. Each county will
probably be a little different in what they have and offer in assistance.
