Subject: Seator James ELLIS

I have been searching for any data regarding James ELLIS.
He was an AR State Senator representing Greene and Randolph Counties from
1850 thru 1854. James Ellis was known as the "Davie Crockett of AR
legislature".
He was listed in the Greene Co., 1840 census, but I couldn't find him in the
1850 census.
His daughter, Nancy Jane Snodgrass indicated that her father and mother were
from MO (based on the Greene Co., AR 1900 census)
The AR Secretary of State could not any more than I have typed here.
Does anyone know anything about this man.
