My Great Grandfather Rev. W.A. Fitzgerald was an ordained minister with the
Methodist Episcopal Church in Arkansas. He was minister at Amity M.E. Church
for many years before his death in 1941. I found more information about his
Methodist career at the Arkansas United Methodist University, Bailey Library,
Hendrix College, Conway, Arkansas. They keep some history information about
Methodist ministers in their archives. They have an email contact address.
Try "google" to search for their website.
Great Grandfather Fitzgerald was also a missionary with the American
Sunday School Union. I don't have any information about that organization but
maybe there is some information on the Internet. Try a web search.
I also found the ordination record for Rev. Jim Hearn in with some land
records at the Clark County Courthouse, Arkadelphia, AR. I don't understand
why ordination records would be kept in with land records??? For some
reason, I also have a photo of Jim Hearn that I inherited from Great Grandfather
Fitzgerald. Anyone out there related to Jim Hearn?
