My grandfather John Anderson Langley was always referenced as being a
Baptist minister among the family. He also farmed. Farming was his real
source of income, but he also preached part-time in a rural church. All who
knew him said so, but I don't find documentation. This may be so for your
pastor also. Now days we call it bi-vocational. In the old days if a
church couldn't pay enough to feed the family, the pastor did something else
as well.
