I have had several request as to where you all can buy the research material
that I have. The books with the Probate, Marriage, Teaching Credentials,
etc.. is by Wright & Caffee. You need to contact Pauline W. Wright @ P.O.
Box 1976, Glenwood, AR 71943. I purchased mine a little over a year ago.
There are two books and I think (??) they may have been around $65.
Clark County Arkansas, Past and Present(which is a big white Goodspeed type
book), Clark County, Happenings in Okolona and Antoine Township 1869-1930,
Happenings in Okolona and Antoine Township 1931-1936 were all purchased from
the Riley-Hickingbotham Library AKA Clark County Historical Association and
the web address for this is http://www.obu.edu/library/countyrecords.htm
The books are material compiled out of the Southern Standard, Gurdon Times,
personal family information submitted. These books a wonderful source of
research material.
The obituary books are Clark County, Arkansas Obituaries and Death Notices
1869-1900, 1901-1913, 1914-1921. Three books....I beleave I purchased these
from Bobbie Jones McLane @ 222 McMahan Drive, Hot Springs, Arkansas
71913-6243.
Lots of people deserve credit for compiling this information, getting it
published and on the shelf for all of us Clark County Researchers....but the
man who seems to have compiled information for every piece of research
material mentioned is Allen B. Syler. He has been gracious enough to give me
the permission to offer look-ups in all such material and Allen, we all thank
you for this! Due to living in California...far away from Clark County, my
research would still be at my grandparents (smiling) if it weren't for your
material....So Thank You Forever!!!
I hope you all visit the web site at Riley....we are sooo lucky to be Clark
County Researchers with this type of material availabe.
If you cannot order the material but would still like look-ups, please don't
hesitate to ask me.
Thanks!
Pam Tillman-Goff
