The following is the Obit for Roy E. Ayers that was in the Stillwater, OK
newspaper. Thought I would pass it along.

Roy E. Ayres
Former educator Roy E. Ayres died Aug. 18 from complications following
surgery.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 22 at Bella Vista
Christian Church in Bella Vista, Ark.

Ayres served in World War II as an artillery officer and way again activated
for the Korean War. He finished his military career in the U.S. Reserves as
a lieutenant colonel.

Ayres retired as a state supervisor of trade and industrial education with
the Oklahoma Department of Vocational and Technical Education.

A graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State University, he received his
master's and doctorate's degree from Oklahoma State University.

He joined the state Department of Vocational Technical Education in 1962.

He was instrumental in the creation of the Vocational Industrial Clubs of
America. He retired in 1981 and was inducted into the Oklahoma Vo-Tech
Foundation's Hall of Fame in 1007. Since retirement, he and his second wife
Fran have resided in Bella Vista.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Jackie Crider Ayres.

Ayres is survived by his wife Fran; children Patrick Ayres, Purcell; Cathy
Silvers, Maysville, KY.; Kay Moore, Tulsa, OK.; brother Arnold Ayres,
Piedmont, OK.; sister Elsie Defehr, Weatherford, OK.; 14 grand-children; and
three great grand-children.
