Subject: TRIPPE (TRIPP)/RIGGAN (RAGIN) 1835-1870 CLARK ARK

Looking for my Trippe/Riggan relatives in Arkansas. I think I uncovered
some information on a brick wall in my research today. I looked on the maps
and could not locate a Clark Arkansas so I was guessing the information
referred to the county Clark. After searching for four years, I rechecked
the LDS internet site on who would have been my GGG grandfather Sam Trippe
and it showed a Sam Trippe from Clark Arkansas being born about 1836 in Clark
Arkansas and being married Jan. 1861 to Fredonia Ragin (which I have
discovered is an alternate spelling for Riggan). My GGG grandmother Fredonia
Elizabeth Riggan (1845-1886) daughter of Samuel H. Riggan and Martha Tarver
was from and died in Wilson County, Tennessee. She was an orphan by 1858 and
she disappeared from the Tennessee census in 1860 but returned in Wilson
County TN census in 1870 as a widow under the name F.E. Trippe with two
children (Henrietta (Etter or Etta) born in 1862 in either Arkansas or Texas
and Tilmon/Tilman born in 1866 in either Arkansas or Texas. Fredonia died in
1886 and her toombstone says she was the wife of S. Tripp. Tilman's death
certificate shows his father was Sam Tripp from Arkansas. It is rumored
Fredonia returned to Tennessee with her two children and her former slave
after her husband died. My family at one time went by Trippe and not Tripp.
Due to family debate, the name Tripp was pretty much used by 1920 all of the
time. Any information on this Trippe family or the Riggan/Ragin family would
be appreciated. My mother's last name is Tripp and I would like to suprise
her family by the next family reunion.
