Dear Debra,
There are many hotels in the area......Arlington, Majestic, and the one
that came to mind first, the " Eastman Hotel" (no longer there) but there
were MANY, as I said. The Pullman, The Como, The Moody, the Rockafellow, the
list may be endless, but do any of these names ring a bell?? The only 2 of
these that are still operating, or even still standing, would be the
Arlington and Majestic.
The Como was imploded in the late 70's, early 80's, the Moody burned also
in that time period. The Eastman, my personal favorite because of it's size,
and grandeur, awed me when I first discovered it, not knowing it had ever
existed, as there is no sign (very little, if any) of it now. During WWII,
it was connected to the Army Navy Hospital, and used as a doctors/nurses
quarters amongst many other things.
Let me know if any of these sound familiar, k??. :o)
Ever,
Diana
