Ed,
That is very interesting information. My grandfather worked on a train
called a Red Ball Express, according to some members of the family.
It went thru Stuttgart at least, though where else it might have gone is
unknown to us.
I was raised in Hot Springs until '41 and ran all over the yard there... think
it was the MP .
If I understand you correctly, I can write this board and give his name and
approximate age and maybe get some information on him as a direct ancestor??
That would be most welcome.

Pat,
You do not have to know which railroad to obtain information from the
Railroad Retirement Board.
All railroad workers are covered by Railroad Retirement benefits as the
rest of us are covered by Social Security.
Somehow, I was under the impression when I first learned of your great
grandmother's railroad service that the line involved was the Missouri
Pacific.
North Little Rock AR was a busy place for them because they had a large
roundhouse there when I was a child in the 1930s.
Best wishes
Ed
