That is a good answer, but how do we know what Railroads were in Ark at a
certain time????? I am trying to climb over a brickwall on this subject, My
fraternal grandfather William Worden Emery worked on some railroad in or
near Bentonville, he married Mary Malinda Peel June 14, 1889, they had two
children, went into Indian Territory where my father was born, went back to
Arkansas and had two more children in Gentry, Benton County and then two
more in Carrollton, Carroll Cty. I do not know if he worked for the
railroads the whole time, I was told he was a blacksmith. Sometime after
that he and the oldest son left for parts unknown.....I have tried to get
some information on the railroads in the area of 1885 thru about 1905 or
so, but have had no luck, I do not even know if they would have had any
records for his type of work....I would appreciate any clues on how to find
out about the Railroads. Thanks very much. If anyone has any Emery
relatives, I have some information I will be glad to share. Louise Emery

Rose,
The various railroad companies should have them.
Best wishes,
Ed
