The primary newspapers in Franklin County were The Spectator which has
published since 1911 and is still published. The Democrat Enterprise was
published from several years earlier until about the 1950's. There were
several other newspapers published, most for short periods of time.

The Arkansas State Archives has microfilm of several of these newspapers.
None of the publications are complete. The Spectator and Democrat have a
lot of missing issues. The other publications have a few have only a few
issues are available.
