Obtained No Sympathy

A young man, whose deportment has not always been what it should be, tried to get in the limelight about 8 o’clock last night by going to one or two drug stores and asked for some kind of poison, as he wanted to kill himself. Of course he failed to get the poison and he concluded to go through the motion to see how much excitement he could create.

About eight last night he was found lying near the Washington Street ditch with an empty bottle carefully placed on his breast and when a few gathered around him, he appeared to be suffering greatly, but he was brought to Main Street where an examination of his mouth by a physician revealed the fact that he had not taken any poison. He was given an enema, however, and by the time he recovered from the effects, he was ready to go home, and he appeared on the streets this morning as usual.
