Evelyn,
Mulberry is on the Crawford-Franklin county line, but in Crawford, while
Dyer and Alma are well within Crawford County. Van Buren is the county
seat of Crawford and has very good newspaper coverage since the county
was founded.
Probably, the two papers most useful to you will be the _Van Buren
Argus_ and the _Van Buren Press_. Also, you should know that the
_Arkansas Gazette_ is on microfilm from 1819 until the present.
Several volumes of clippings have been extracted by the lovely person
listed below. One of her volumes may have what you are seeking. She is:
