Imboden -

Miss Patti Dye returned to Searcy last week via Walnut Ridge.

Dollie and Harry Murphy went up to Mammoth Springs on a visit last week.

R. L. Marchbanks is preparing to erect a handsome new residence on Front
street.

George Smith, Esq., merchant, of Bengay, was in our thriving little city on
business last week.

Mrs. Baber and Mr. Will Peters, of Walnut Ridge, spent Saturday and Sunday
in Imboden on their way to Smithville for a visit.

The citizens of near Ravenden Springs are very proud of having cotton in
full bloom. It is earlier this year than has ever been known before.

J. C. Riley, Jr., editor of the Black Rock Blade, was in the city yesterday.
He was just back from Little Rock and failed to wake up when he reached
Black Rock the night before.

Rev. Hudson preached two good sermons here Sunday to good congregations.
Brother Hudson is gaining quite a reputation for his constantly improving
preaching, and he deserves it.

W. J. Bacon, Jr., left Monday for Kentucky, taking with him his siter, Miss
Ada, who will spend the summer with relatives there. Mr. Bacon will remain
for several weeks, visiting in the land of blue grass and free silver.

H. W. Porter received a telegram last week, calling him to the bedside of
his brother, R. G. Porter, living near Hardy, who was thought to be at the
point of death. A letter received from Mr. Porter Monday reported him very
much better.
