Does anyone have the address for the website mentioned, with the old name for a disease compared with the modern names.
Thanks
Bj

Ague is a malarial fever with shaking, shivering, chills, Accompanied by
cold, hot then sweating fits.
Another old time disease is gout; a very painful inflammation of the joints (
mainly feet, hands and especially the big toe). There was even a specially
crafted "gout" hassock for resting a sore foot upon. It is caused by excess
uric acid in the blood.
Catarrh (another old favorite) is inflammation of the mucous membranes, with
excessive nasal secretions.
Flux is dysentery and also was called "bloody flux". A real killer.
I've seen these mentioned seceral times in morbitity censuses. There is even
a website with the old name for a disease compared with the modern name.
