DEATH OF Mrs. Dr. Williams
In the Mulberry Siftings of this week we find the following notice of the
death of one of the oldest citizens of Crawford County. Dr. Williams died in
Van Buren soon after the war and is remembered by but few of our older
citizens.

Mrs. Margaret Dyer, who was once the widow of Dr. D. D. Williams, died
recently near Belmont, this county. She was one of the oldest settlers in
Crawford County, having lived in the county for over half a century. She was
born in Wales about 75 years ago and was married to Dr. D. D. Williams in
1853 and took a steamer at London soon after her marriage and sailed for
America. She was noted for her charity and was her delight to look after the
poor and could not be excelled as a nurse in the sick room. She was a member
of the C. P. Church of the old Mulberry congregation. She was in poor health
for several years before her death and she was glad no doubt when the
summons came and called her up higher. Your correspondent will remember her
for her kindness during the dark days of the sixties, when she took an
active part in helping the distressed where ever she found them. A Friend.
