Dear List,

The annual American Society of Genealogists Award is a stipend of $500
toward tuition and expenses at either the Institute of Genealogy and
Historical Research (Samford) or the National Institute on Genealogical
Research (Washington, D.C.).

Candidacy for the award is open to all genealogists, genealogical
librarians, and researchers in related fields.

In the interests of fairness, the deadline has been extended to March 15th
with announcement of the winner on March 30th this year. Unfortunate typos
in the address widely publicized may have caused some submissions to miss my
mailbox; I'm repeating the correct address here:

Melinde Lutz Sanborn, FASG
Chair, ASG Scholarship Committee
84 Rosewell Road
Bedford, NH 03110

Submissions must be hardcopy. Some submissions have reached me, but if you
sent an application and did not receive an acknowledgment from me, yours
wasn't one of them. Contact me privately.

The 2008 winner will be in great company - previous winners include Patricia
Law Hatcher, Peter E. Carr, June Reidrich Zublic, Carol Gohari, Douglas S.
Shipley, Nancy S. Peterson, Birdie Monk Holsclaw, and Dawn C. Stricklin.

For further details, visit http://www.fasg.org/asg_scholar_award.html

With best regards,
Melinde
