Years ago I told me optometrist about my using a variety of pastel sheets of
paper on a microfilm projector to read film with various contrast problems.
He instantly understood and explained to me that as we age, the rods and
cones in our retina weaken faster for some colors than others and that this
differs between people. With that, he then went on to discuss color
combinations to avoid in visuals used for lectures and a number of other
hints, some of which I no longer recall. Perhaps it's not just the retina
that weakens with age. <grin>

I wonder.... Might we in APG know someone out there who could do say an
article for the Quarterly on this? They'd probably need to be either an
optometrist, ophthalmologist or other scientist with the background to get
the science right. However the value to us could be significant.

John

PS My optometrist has moved on, so I can't ask him to do this.

When I first started doing research, someone taught me the trick of sing a
yellow clear sheet overtop of the light writing. This brings the contrast
out.
