Carolyn...I have an InFocus LP350 and love it. It is 1300 lumens. I almost
bought the LP130, but found the LP350 slightly used (5 hours) for actually a bit
less since it was used. It is heavier - I believe about 5 1/2 pounds. I love
the fact that I don't have to depend upon some else's projector, and can
experiment at home while preparing lectures. Whether it is financially advisable
probably depends on where you lecture. If you are lecturing at a number of
regional societies, they are not likely to have a projector.

As to the remote that is held, usually projectors come with one, though their
features vary. It does give you the flexibility of being able to move around.

is compatible with your projector.]

If I were buying a projector now, in addition to lumens, I would look for one
which stores a SECOND bulb within the projector. It is a problem to carry an
extra bulb otherwise as you want it well protected in its original box, and it
is fairly large and bulky. Some projectors now have built in capacity for a
second bulb.

Good luck, whatever youi decide! But don't overlook used or refuberished
projectors if they come with a warranty of some nature.
