Hi Bud,
I have recently purchased my second HP 17" laptop and find it to be just
great. As far as floppy, you will probably have to buy an extended
floppy drive as most laptops do not come with that drive built in. I
have found that burning items to a CD using a built in CD Burner is just
about as inexpensive as using floppy disks.
I use a jump drive which allows me to copy items to the jumpdrive, pull
out the jump drive and take it with me to another computer. These work
off the USB port on your computer.
You sound like you will be jumping into a whole new world.
Check out places like Circuit City or Best Buy to see if they have sale
computers.
My current laptop cost was $1,600.
