Subject: VA Pension Records

The Veteran's Administration has custody of a Civil War Pension Record that I
need according to a NARA letter several years ago. I wrote to the VA and
asked for a copy of the pension record giving them all of the information 2-3
years ago. I again wrote to them giving them all of the numbers off the card in
June of 2003. I have never heard back from them. It seemed to be that they
might have responded saying they will, won't or drop dead.

Have they stopped sending copies of pension records or moved them to another
respository? Can anyone give me the most recent information on the situation?


I don't know if this is the new policy and I am out of luck or if I have just
been unlucky and need to resubmit it.
