I certainly disagree with Mr. Johnson! I think MyFamily and Suzanne should
be commended.
The participants and target audience for this list are professional
genealogists--primarily people who have undertaken genealogical research,
writing, or lecturing as an occupation, not just an avocation.
I would be hard-pressed to find a more appropriate venue for the prompt
transmission of information about employment opportunities for
genealogists. In fact, I am disappointed that positions for genealogists
are so rarely announced over the list.
Because of my background in archival work, I subscribe (as do a number of
others on this list) to the Archives and Archivists list. Many employers
of archivists post their job opportunities to that list; I don't recall
ever reading a complaint about the practice.
