The latest edition of "Genealogical Computing" (January, February, March
2004, Vol. 23.3) just came yesterday and it features the 2004 Family History
Software Directory for programs, research tools, and add-on utilities. Each
product is listed with contact info, specifications features, output, and
which issue of GC it was reviewed in. This is a handy index to anyone
seeking such comparative information.
As you look at the reviews you will see many familiar names from this list,
so basically you have already "tapped into that resource." This list is
where the serious genealogists live (serious about learning that is!) and is
an appropriate resource to tap into when looking for help and advice be it
methodology, computer techniques, or job postings (individual contract or
salaried positions).
This list is such a wealth of collective knowledge and makes true the old
adage "You don't know who knows what until you ask."
Best wishes,
