Every year one of the most popular and successful of genealogical
educational opportunities is the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy, held in
early January. In nine years, the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy has grown
into the largest of the several genealogical institutes, due to its
location, unique topics, and the high caliber of it's coordinators and
instructors. A very high return rate for its students attests to the value
they place on this learning opportunity.
The 2004 Institute is poised to be the most successful ever! The specific
purpose of this message is to announce the focus for this year's
professional-level track: "Becoming a Successful Professional," and to alert
readers to a newly-announced scholarship for this track. Lead by successful
genealogical entrepreneur, Natalie Cottrill, founder of ProGenealogists,
this course will deal with the topics all professional genealogists need to
handle in pursuing their career.
Aided by a host of excellent teachers and successful professionals,
including Gordon Remington, Karen Clifford, John Kitzmiller, III, and
others, Cottrill has put together an impressive set of 20 classes,
supplemented by roundtables, workshops and other "networking" activities to
help genealogists become excellent, and successful, professionals. The
classes are arranged in five areas of concern:
Are You Ready?
Nuts & Bolts of Getting Started
Refining Your Business & Helping it Grow
Time Is Money-Where Does it All Go?
Final Details: Ethics, Intellectual Property, and Contracts
Now for the financial news! Two professional genealogical research
companies, Genealogical Research Associates and ProGenealogists have teamed
up to provide a full-tuition scholarship for one student to attend this
course! For more information on this course and the scholarship, go to
http://www.progenealogists.com/ugainstitute.htm
For more information about the Institute, including a description of the ten
courses and an application form, go to

Come and enjoy a great genealogical education in the best genealogical
setting!
Thanks for sharing this message with your genealogical friends.
