I have often had success by searching the location where the first child
was born, if known. If the mother/bride was from a different county
than the father/groom it is usually in the brides county that the
marriage will be recorded. If the couple stayed in that county the
birth record of their first child can help locate marriage; and the
childs baptism, if found, can lead to possible church records of the
marriage. Good Luck.
