There was one enquiry in the Johannes Schwalm Journal of
1997 - asking for a KOLBE, Baltzer, of course the name Baltzer
is a shortform of Balthasar, and Kolbe could be Culp, Kulp,
Kolb, Colp, or even Kolpe, Kulpe.
I would check the mail list archives found here
http://freepages.military.rootsweb.com/~bonsteinandgilpin/
That's the best I can do for you.

(btw. if he was really born in Hannover, Germany, he may have
been one of the Scheither's recruits, serving in British Regiments)

I have also found it spelled Balthasor Kalb. Information I found says he was
born in Hanover, Germany and was a Hessian soldier in the Revolutionary War
who stayed in America in 1776.
> Other information says he was born in Germany, near Frankfort On The
Main, he emigrated to America in 1783 with his brother August and they were
coopers.
> I believe he was born about 1754 and died 4 Jun 1847 in Knox
Township,Jefferson County,Ohio.
> Records show he married twice- Anna Catarina Augusta and Catharina Anna
Grubaugh in 1808.
> What I am looking for is information on his life in Germany, birth,
parents, etc.. Any suggestions on where to find this would be wonderful.
