Where did Christopher live in Allegany County? I have long suspected that
there are a number of unidentified former Hessian soliders among the early
settlers who were there prior to Deakin's Survey. I believe that my own
ancestor, Nicholas Holsbury may be one of them. I believe he may be the
Nicholas Holzberger (Hetrina Volume III). He was from Kirchhosbach and
served in ERB5. His birthdate corresponds with my Nicholas and he is
listed as deserted in July of 1781. He possibly married the daughter (or
even the sister) of Godfrey Corbus (the elder). To date I have been unable
to prove this connection.

There was a Christian Wagner who also served in ERB5.
