Hi there----Carl and Martha Thomas have graciously asked me to pass along
this information to those of you in Walker County that might have an
interest.

The connection is....... that Samuel and Mary Johnstone Fields very early
settlers of what is now Jefferson County Alabama who also have many
descendants in Walker County Alabama----their first child Nancy Fields
married James Gassaway Rogers. James Gassaway Rogers was the son of Samuel
and Mary Williams Rogers. He/James G. Rogers had a sister Kesiah Rogers and
she married Jerimiah Shepherd ( a large family and history in Walker County)
He had another sister, Nancy Rogers who married a James Fields. And another
sister, Margaret who married Samuel Youngblood as well as another sister,
Mary who married Jesse Meeks.

Many thanks to Carl and Martha Thomas for their work on-----Carol Jeanette
Rogers ( Mrs. E. J. Odenkirchen) a descendant and family researcher of many
years. Here's the bio....

Carol Jeanette Rogers was the daughter of Daniel G. Rogers. She attended
Mortimer Jordan High School. During most of her adult life she lived in
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

A 22-page illustrated booklet summarizing recent genealogical research for
her is now available free. The title is "Carol Jeanette [Rogers]
Odenkirchen," prepared by Carl & Martha Thomas, 2004. It is a PDF file,
requiring Adobe Acrobat. The file size is about 800 K.

If you would like to receive a copy of this item free, please send an
off-list request to us, specifying the Odenkirchen material.
