Trying to find my Hicks/Hix/Smith ancestors that lived in
Walker County.
Edward Hicks was b. 23 Dec 1839 in Walker County,
d. 1 Dec 1928 Jefferson Co AL.
Ed's sister, Francis Hicks Smith, b. ca 1848 AL, d. 23 Oct 1930
in Walker Co AL lived in Walker Co. "Franky" was married to
Zachariah R. Smith on 9 April, 1871. Zach was a Babtist minister.
In the censuses I have found both Hicks and Hix spellings for
the same families on different years. I have been unable to locate
any on-line censuses for Walker or Jefferson AL Counties.
