Having noted several instances where Scots names were
modified, particularly in military records makes me curious.
Some of our Scots ancestors are difficult to track, and I
am therefore interested in learning anything that might shed
some light on the practice of name changes.
We would love to find ancestors for George Clinton GRANT, of New York and
New Jersey, early 1800's.
He married Eliza C. HADDON before 1841 when their
first child was born. A BIG thank you. Pat GRANT
