Dear AKAs,

I apologize for the recent batch of adoption requests. I was called away
unexpectedly for a funeral and returned to find the messages today.

For the record, this list is not for 20th century adoptions. It is
intended as a resource for name changes which left no legal record
regardless of the era. Adoptions prior to 1899 may be addressed IF the "no
legal record" criteria is met.

There are many other resources for 20th century adoptions. Over 80 sites
are listed at http://www.CyndisList.com/adoption.htm.
