Greetings!
I am new to the list.

I am researching the James M. ARMER/ARMOR/ARMOUR family in Cherokee Co. He was in Cherokee by March 1847 when his 1st wife died. He was issued a land patent in Mar. 1850 and was in the 1850 Cherokee census with his 2nd wife. I am trying to locate his death date and place of burial in Cherokee Co. I believe he died after the 1850 census but before the 1860.

He was married to Effie SEWELL. Her parents were Isaac and Rebecca SEWELL who also lived in Cherokee Co. Isaac and some of their children are buried in Cedar Bluff Cemetery; however, I have not been able to locate a burial place for Effie Sewell ARMER [d. Mar. 1847] or James.

I have read messages saying she was married to an ODELL abt. 1865. There is a Rebecca ODELL in the 1880 Cherokee Co. census whose information matches up. If anyone has information on this marriage, I hope to hear from you. I am also looking for a death date for Rebecca SEWELL.

I hope to hear from anyone who is researching these families in Cherokee Co. and any suggestions as to reference material. I have emailed the Cherokee Co. librarian about obtaining a copy of The Heritage of Cherokee Co., AL. I understand there is a book by Bob E. Allen, The Jones-Sewell Connection, in the U. of AL library that may have information on this Sewell family. If anyone knows where I could locate a copy of this book, I would really appreciate it.

I will be happy to share any information I have on these families.
Thanks in advance!
