Thank you Vic for posting the link to the British Library Newspapers.
Because of you, I broke through a long standing brick wall, the
marriage of my great great grandparents, James Swift and Nancy (Ann)
Adams. I wasn't even looking for it but it came up when I was
searching the database for another individual. I have been looking
for that marriage for years and thanks to you it popped up on my
computer screen this afternoon. The marriage took place in 1833 at
St. Bride's Church in Liverpool. I am so excited and so grateful to
you. Thanks again.

My great grandfather Thomas Walthew Swift went from Liverpool to
Wynberg South Africa where he was the first rector. Three of his
eight children were born there, including my grandfather. My
grandfather eventually went to Canada but three of his brother stayed
in South Africa, had families and it was one of their sons who
eventually moved to Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe. I still have relatives
living there but hear from them less and less. My grandfather's
sister, Catherine Swift Dawson is buried in Bulawayo. I hope some day
to visit her grave.
