Posted to other lists for a general input

Hi Margaret
I too have often wondered about a site for CARRUTHERS, there is of course the Rootsweb site but they seem more interested in the USA ancestors.
Something is needed where we can share files of data for free - I'm sure the Genealogy would grow in leaps & bounds if more free data was available. I am involved in 2 other society's in Zimbabwe so don't have the time or resources to open a dedicated Carruthers site at this stage.
It has been suggested the "Face Book" that has been taking the world by storm is freely available for putting on pictures etc........... perhaps the way to go. My other feeling if data is going to be submitted it should not only be in GED format, as so many people cannot read it. The PDF file system I use for printing my data of my GEDCOM program works great and from a free downloadable program "appealing to my Scott's blood", and is viewable by most computers.
Well one day perhaps - when I have more time!
Rgds

Hi Ian
I wish I had the money to put up a special site for Carruthers. There is one for my husband's family that is just amazing, it is a Sparling info site.
