Thanks for this. My mother in law ( a Perrem ) was brought up in Umtali but
doesn't talk about it much. Her father was born there in 1899 - pretty early
in it's history.
I employed a researcher who did a very through search in the zimbabwe
archives and found a wealth of information. Well worth the money. I would be
happy to forward the details off list if anyone was interested.
