I am looking for information on John Yerma Garba he married my mother Mahala here in the U.S. back in the 1980 he went back to Nigeria in late 1981 promising to come back, he didn't write her after 1984 we have never heard from him again. He always said his fathers name was simply Garba and had three wives Patu, Marymon, and Markajan. John's mother is Patu, he also has two sisters Salimatu and Amina.
I have a picture of John's three children (2 girls and a boy, Joseph is the only name I remember), when they were very young; they are from his first wife Martha.
Recently I was sorting through a drawer and came accross some writings he did when he was attending college and decided to try and find him again.
In his stories he describes his fathers farm as being 20 square miles in Tumpwen Plateau State and helping his father protect the crops against wild animals at the age of 13 in 1965. He descibes Patu as a hardworker, Marymon as lazy and mean spirited, Makajan as big, strong and full of love. I know John had other siblings from his fathers' other wives, but he never mentions them.
If anything in my writing sounds familiar please contact me I'd really like to get in touch.
