Hello Colin
You did first ask for information on Max KRAUSE and I gave you the
information that there is no Max KRAUSE in the Adress books. But now I had
to learn that you looking for a Max Hugo Krause. There is a Hugo KRAUSE in
the adressbooks. You did get the information already up to the book 1990/20
from Marie van der Merwe in Swakopmund.
I have also adressbooks from later and think that this is the same Hugo
KRAUSE as in the previous adress books:
1914:
Krause, Hugo, Kaufmann, Vertreter d. S.A.T. Ltd , Kalkfontein Süd
(This is your Hugo ?)
1923/24:
Krause Hugo, verh., Kaufmann, Windhoek
(This could be your Hugo, but he moved to Windhoek)
1927:
Krause Hugo, Verwalter (Store Keeper) B 410 Windhoek
1931/32:
Krause Hugo, (verh) Kaufmann, Tel: 322, P.O.Box 410, Windhoek
1936:
Krause M.H., verh., Storebesitzer, 1. Gammama-Rivier
(The M.H could stay for Max Hugo)
1939:
Krause M.H. Warengeschäft/General Dealer, Te. 322, P.O.Box 410, Windhoek
1948:
Krause M.H. General Dealer P.O.Box 410 Windhoek
1953:
Krause, Succ. M.H. Box 626, Tel 2339, Windhoek
(This could be that M.H. Krause had died, or moved, or had sold his
bussiness to a successor)
1958:
No information on Krause M.H.
My Question: If this is your M H Krause and he died during the 1950's in
Windhoek, then he could be burried at the old cemetery in Windhoek
There could be a possibility, that the grave still exists.
Best regards from windhoek
Heinz Krumrey
