I am searching for any information regarding my Jewish ancestors whom I have traced from Wales to London, England and have found from their death certificates that they were born in Morocco.

The earliest known member of this family is my g/g/g/ grandfather Samuel Levi Bensheton who was born in Morocco and died in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales in 1858

His son Yantub was born in Morocco circa 1813 - 14 and married in London. He was described as a clothier.

They settled eventually in Wales, but my g/g/grandmother later emigrated to New Zealand.

Is Levi Bensheton a common name in Morocco? Where would I be able to find out more information (records of birth etc) in Morocco?
