I have a family history collection of a TAYLOR family of Paisley, Scotland, some of whom migrated to Canada around 1840. Others of the family went to USA and some to Bechuanaland.
The collection which I have contains a fair amount of genealogical connections but most interestingly, has also a collection of letters which were passed between the various "cousins" in Scotland, Canada, USA and Bechuanaland over the years describing their voyages, their lives as settlers, etc.
The Bechuanaland connection consisted of Alexander TAYLOR (1839 - ?) and Margaret Campbell (1840-1913) who went to Africa in 1879. They had children - H.C. (Harry) TAYLOR (m. Mary Ann Clark), Madge TAYLOR, Alex. TAYLOR, Mary TAYLOR (m.Thos Atkinson), Jean TAYLOR (m. Fred Hurden), Jessie TAYLOR (m. Alfred Cousins), Alfred TAYLOR (m. Alidia Hemming), Gordon TAYLOR, David TAYLOR, Jane TAYLOR, John TAYLOR.
I have some info about descendents plus connections to earlier family members and "cousins" in Canada, etc. In addition, there are a few letters from H.C.TAYLOR, Hettie and Jessie TAYLOR to cousins in Canada and USA. over the years.
I am interesting in sharing this material with anyone who is connected to these people.
