My name is Lucie LeBlanc married to Anthony Consentino - I am webmaster of
the Acadian & French Canadian Ancestral Home. A member of the Board of
Directors for the American Canadian Genealogical Society of Manchester, New
Hampshire, I also volunteer at ACGS on: the Editorial Board for our
society's quarterly the "American-Canadian Genealogist"; the Acquisitions
Board in charge of Acadian acquisitions; Chairperson of the Conference
Committee; Acadian Researcher to help people who come to ACGS for the first
time to do Acadian research. I enjoy giving workshops on Acadian genealogy
and history. I am also a member of the Lawrence Historical
Society/Immigrant Archives as well as its genealogy group.I have been
invited to be one of two speakers at the LeBlanc Family Reunion at CMA 2004.
My father George Charles LeBlanc was born 30 September 1896 and was the 3rd
youngest of 8 siblings and 9 half-siblings. He was the son of Damien
LeBlanc and Odille Doiron who married in Shédiac, New Brunswick on 15 August
1887. Odille's parents: Eustache Doiron and Modeste Cormier who married 28
December 1860 in Barachois, New Brunswick. This was Damien's second
marriage. His first was to Marie-Geneviève Arsenault d/o Thomas Arsenault
and Olympiade Paquet. I am still searching for my grandfather Damien's
place of death - I believe it was in the Hartford, Connecticut area. Damien
LeBlanc's parents: Sylvain LeBlanc and Domithilde
Arsenault who married 03 February 1845 in Bouctouche, New Brunswick.
My mother Rosanna Lévesque was born 27 November 1900, the daughter of
Étienne Lévesque born in 1873 Baie-des-Sables, Kamouraska, Québec and
Arthémise Dumais born 1875 in Ste-Anastasie-de-Lyster, Québec.
My mother's parents married 15 October 1895 in Lawrence, Massachusetts.
I am still searching for my father's brothers who went to the Hartford,
Connecticut area in the early 1920s, married and raised families there. I
believe my grandfather Damien was with them. Their names: Albert White who
married Anne Yokel and Henry White. Henry died in Andover, Connecticut.
This is a great list - my gratitude to Yvon for creating and maintaining it!
Lucie
