ADNO, v.1, p.148 lists Anne Marie Lamoureaux (Jean Baptiste and
Catherine[o], b. Feb. 3, 1730 [AN, B 1730, 110]) so the line was either
French or French-Canadian. I'll check the Mississippi Valley Pioneers asap.

Hi again,
Thanks to all who have responded. I have been chasing Quebec leads as well,
and as you can see I have not gotten any info on Andre or Marie. I am
looking into the Acadian lineage for reasons that are not strong enough to
make me look before now. One, the New England migration may have been from
Quebec or the other Eastern provinces... two, family lore (which can no
longer be verified) tells that Philibert "did not speak Quebec French, but a
different French" and thought it was either European French or Acadian
dialect.... and three, I looked on the Progeny Software page for the
Acadian-Cajun CD Rom, and it lists several Lamoureux on that CD. So... I'm
not ready to purchase that CD just yet, as Lamoureux is traditionally a
Quebec name, but who knows where lines may have crossed in marriage or
migration!
I do appreciate the responses and will look into this more later. All the
best, Aimee O'Connell
