My sister corresponds with an English couple. She met them on a cruise
several years ago. They are in their 80's. Nice folks.
The wife usually writes and in the last letter she used some alphabet soup
that my sister didn't understand.

MOT (MOT was used in connection with a "locum" doctor's visit.)
PTO in American (includes Canada) would be part of a farm tractor --
power take off.
