The two letters
Eth (or Etha)Ð uppercase or ð lowercase
and
ThornÞ uppercase or þ lowercase
were used in Saxon and Old English to denote an unvoiced "th" (as in "thing")
and a voiced "th" (as in "the"). Þey're still in use in modern Icelandic, as
far as I know.
