When Turing was under suspicion, his fudge to the copper
was that he had been talking to 'George', who, in a vague
sort of way, might support his statements or vouch for his
whereabouts.

(Alan Turing (1912-54): cryptographer, WW2; theoretician of
artificial intelligence, early version thereof; committed suicide
while being prosecuted for homosexuality.)

Greenslang: 'George', RAF jargon -- a familiar form of address to
any stranger.

(Heard among aircrew, as all pilots relaxed in the passenger section:
"Who's front?"
"Just George."
-- in this context, George was the automatic pilot in an old DC-4.)

Greenslang has many entries for 'george', a couple of them sexual,
but hetero- not homo-; e.g., 'George called' = 'menstruation'.

Greenslapper = promiscuous woman; whore.
