There were several of Meadow/Meador's children's marriages in there but no Jonas. Did he have a middle name? I had some ,from my grandmother, who was born and raised in Flat Gap, but who is now deceased. Really, all I knew was that every time we would go through Norton, she would say I had a granddaddy Hamilton that was killed in the Civil War up North and brought back to Norton and buried!!! I was very young, but never forgot her telling me that. I have heard several stories about his death. In one, he tried to kill a Colonel or something and the son killed him, in another, his horse was stolen and he was bushwhacked and killed going after it, and then my grandmama told me he was fighting up North somewhere and got killed. So, who knows how he died, but I do know it was during the War. He was married to Mary Wheatley, and she is buried over in our family cemetery in Flat Gap (Benjamin Bolling). At least there is a Mary Hamilton I "think" is she buried there, but you know that Mary is a very common name too!!! There is also a James Hamilton there, but I don't think it is her husband. I think he was buried in or around Norton. Prince's Flats or Ramsey Flats or something like that. There is a James Hamilton there to, but I think he is a son. I wish they had all these "same" names for all the generations put where the sun don't shine!!! LOL It is so hard to untangle them. But I am like a bulldog, I'll hang on till I find them. We may end up kin after all. Probably all the Hamiltons in that area were kin somehow. Take care, and holler back anytime. It was owned by Carl Hill. Carl's wife's name was Ruth and they had two daughters, Wanda and JoAnn. Gary (my brother-in-law), graduated with JoAnn. He said that Carl's father, Jimmy ran the store before Carl, but that is as far back as he himself remembers. As his mother is still living and very elderly, I'll get him to ask her if she remembers any more. She was born and raised there too. Gary's father was a BISHOP and his mother's maiden name was CARTER. Those are two surnames of very early, if not some of the earliest pioneers into Rye Cove. Hope this help some.
