Hi all,
I just came across a Highland item on ebay that ends on july 4th. It's an original document to a Jacob Mitchell and signed by Wm Hoover, WS Rau,Puffenberger, Colow, 2 Nelsons, and a Wm. Zieab????(can't make it out). The starting price was about 7.99 and there were no current bids. Just passing on the info. I have no personal interest in this. Do an Ebay search on Highland Cty, VA to find the item. I forgot to write down the name of the vendor.
Carly Malcolm Henderson

researching Malcolm, Bowyer in Highland cty.
_________________________________________________________________
The other season of giving begins 6/24/08.

Thanks, Wiggi, a RW marker was placed on his grave and one of the attendees
was a Dick Hamrick. Mr. Hamrick was suppose to give me directions but I
haven't heard back from him in years, nor has he reply to my personal E mails.
One of the local news papers was there to do a story and had taken pictures,
but I haven't been able to find out which news paper. I do know the McCoy's
lived a mile south of the post office (at that time) in Doe Hill.
Anyhow, thanks for replying to me.

Beckie Anne McCoy

Message: 1
Date: Tue, 12 Feb 2008 22:06:50 -0500
From: "Mike and Teresa Losh" <unicornlosh@verizon.net>
Subject: [VAHIGHLA] Pendleton Pals to Meet
To: <VAHIGHLA-L@rootsweb.com>
Message-ID: <000d01c86ded$7f157ad0$2f01a8c0@LOSHHP>
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed; charset=iso-8859-1;
reply-type=original

Beckie,

I can't help with the burial place for John McCoy but is he the same one
that Morton speaks of in his book, History of Highland County, Virginia?
Glad to see the "Pendleton Pals" actually exist and are meeting!? Wish I could attend that meeting.

I have a major brick wall with a few bricks labeled "WADE" in Pendleton County.? If one of the "pals"

researching the WADE?family could contact me before, during or after this meeting, I would appreciate
it very much!? My inquiry has to do with the WADE connection to my BIRD and HAYS / HASE lines in
Pendleton.?
Hello. I am from a William Griffin/ Martha or Marietta Gum line out of (fmr. Bath) county. My father and I are coming Apr. 24-30 to the area to research, see some family sites and meet any Griffin's. I would love to meet anyone, or hear any info anyone may have. Maybe you will be meeting during that time too!

Thanks,
Sue Griffin > Date: Fri, 8 Feb 2008 17:53:44 -0500> From: unicornlosh@verizon.net> To: VAHIGHLA-L@rootsweb.com> Subject: [VAHIGHLA] Pendleton Pals to Meet> > The Pendleton Pals will meet on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at the Highland County Museum and Heritage Center in McDowell, VA, during the Maple Festival from about 9 am until about 2 p.m.> > The Pendleton Pals are a group of amateur genealogists researching families from the Pendleton and Highland County areas.
