Lorenzo was born in Arizona his father's name was Isidro Anaya Baca mother Conferina Sanchez (I think was her maiden name.) Isidro had one brother which I knew named Leandro. This branch of the Baca family had many members living near Roswell at the time of the now famous weather balloon/UFO crash.

This is all the information I can give you. It tells the story of the Baca, Gomez, Marquez and Perez de Bustillo forebears in their bitter conflict with Rosas, the most interesting governor to serve prior to the Publo Revolt of 1680.

The first in the triology was "The Nation of Shepards", New Mexico, 1598-1958, as experienced by the families Lucero de Godoy y Baca.

The third one is being written and almost completed and titled "Lost in the Dust of Time" which is the final book and tells the story about the colonists fleeing from New Mexico during the Pueblo Indian Revolt in 1680.

There is no way that I could ever write a good description of these books to give credit them the credit they deserve.

However, I can say how much I enjoyed the Nation of Shepards which I've read many times. I haven't started "The Rosas Affair" but my mom is reading it right now and was telling me about it this morning, and I can't wait to get started. We are looking forward to "Lost in the Dust of Time"

Important Note:
The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I'm also a decendent of Celso Baca and very excited to read your storie about Celso being Kit Carson's scout and Sylvia I would love to get a copy of the Charcoal Drawings that you have. I'm decended from Celso, through his son Placido, Cresenciano's brother, Placido's daughter Sinforiana is my grandmother. Donald L. Lucero is my uncle, my mom's brother. He is still writing family books and just completed the last 3rd family history book in his triology named "The Rosas Affair". I've inherited the genealogy bug from him and my father Carlos Gomez. I would like to share information with you that I have. I'll list some of it here, you may or may not have it heard some of these stories. I found a book on the web recently that has a story about Celso, the author describes how Celso who was so generous that at one point in time he gave every kid in Santa Rosa a burro. Uncle Donny also has an unpublished story a!
bout Celso, his son Placido, my grandmother at 5 years of age, and her sister Pelagia, the story starts by describing a day of festivities at the Baca home; the carousel that Celso owned, the story goes on to tell about the wagon trip they took the next day from Santa Rosa to Las Vegas to get on the train to take Pelagia to St. Louis to attend school, this story describes a friendly but surprising encounter that Celso had on the trail when he met Billy the Kid who hiding under a blanket in a hastily approching Wagon coming from the opposite direction. I also have a newspaper clipping that tells of the story that Celso was warned that Billy was coming to town to see Celso, Celso was worried and posted a sentry on the roof, eveything turned out good, Billy just wanted to borrow a horse, which eventually was returned with a promise from him who said that he owed Celso a favor. There's more that I have and am hoping you read this or anyone else that might be interested in sha!
ring this information.
